Every year around April, my family begins the task of
brainstorming where we’d liked to go for our summer vacation. My Mom prefers
a place with a pool, my Brother, a roller coaster, me, great shopping, and my Dad
just wants to relax. With all these different preferences, it usually takes
while to decide where we’re going to end up.
This year was very different!
This year was very different!
As of about 5pm yesterday, our summer vacay is booked, and I
am so excited! You may have guessed where we’re going by the title! Where's our destination this year? None other than the North Carolina Outer Banks, specifically, Nags Head.
Usually when we go to the beach, we stay in a hotel or condo for about three days, but it's my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary,
so we’re going all out! We’ve picked out a house and rented it for the first
week in June woohoo! I love it because it has its own pool, as well as a fenced
in back yard for pets! That means Paisley gets to come too! Paisley has never
been to the beach or in the water (besides her doggie pool), so she'll be having a big time as well!

Even though I’m so excited about the house, the pool and the
beach, I’m sure we’ll be looking for some fun things to do and eat during our stay! I've been
to the Outer Banks before, but it’s been a while, so I can’t remember what all
they have to do there, but I’m open for suggestions!

How fun!! We just booked a beach house for a week in June too - actually at the OBX too! But we'll be down in Avon :) We also found a pet friendly house...so happy that we can bring our dog! We used to go to Nags Head when I was younger and living in VA Beach but I don't remember too much about it! I'm sure you will find fun things to do, though! I love having this to look forward to!
Oh my goodness, so jealous! I would love to be able to go. Looks and sounds like a blast. Happy to hear that Paisley can go with y'all. :)
We used to go to OBX all the time and rent a huge house with my whole family. I don't really remember what there is to do around there... We used to hang out around the house together but the beach is awesome, lots of fun waves!
Looks like so much fun! I can't wait for warmer weather and vacation time!

You are going to love Nags Head! It is a wonderful place. The neat thing about the outer banks is you can easily make it to Nags Head, Kill Devil Hill, Kitty Hawk, etc. without much traveling. There are tons of lighthouses if you're family enjoys that kind of thing. There is also a pretty good outlet mall for shopping! If you want a low key, "fun" meal check out Mexi Cali- Brewz in KIll Devil Hill. They have great food but I like it because they have a fenced in backyard you can play cornhole in before/after your meal. i hope you have so much fun! My family is in the works of planning a summer vacation also.
